I have been with the agency for over fifteen years. Throughout my time here, I have worked in Match Support and in Partnership Development before taking the leadership position in August of 2007. I have also served as a Big Brother for two separate children during my time with the agency. Improving the lives of children is a mission that is close to my heart, and I have dedicated the last 20 years to working for organizations that do just that. In addition, I served as the President of the Optimist club of Lynchburg and currently reside on the Strategic Planning Committee for Holy Cross Regional School. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Jackie and our 11 year old son Lucas, and our 7 year old son Woodrow.

My role with the agency is to bring the perfect Volunteer and the perfect Little together. This relationship brings joy into the lives of both individuals, and is what I find most enjoyable. When a volunteer and a child meet for the first time, and the happiness and joy shows on their faces, I realize that what I do really makes a difference. The good thing is that I get to experience this over and over with each match meeting. “Everyone can be great…..because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love”-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I am so excited to be here! In addition to working on a Masters of Education, my husband and I are raising our daughter (16) and sons (10) and (6). They are the joy of my life and an absolute blessing! Even though my children, my job and my school work keep me busy, my family and I love visiting local orchards and farms when we have time. My husband is a chef and we love trying new things. He owns and operates Grey’s Restaurant in historic downtown Lynchburg. Luckily, we were blessed with a daughter that has a palate like our own and rarely turns down a culinary adventure–the verdict is still out on our son. I interned with Big Brothers Big Sisters before I became a Match Support Specialist and believe strongly in our mission and the good work that we do here.

I am thrilled to be joining the team here at Big Brother Big Sister! I truly enjoy working with children and families and nothing gives me greater joy than watching children and families grow with each other
and with others in the community while making a better life and becoming a better version of themselves! I have worked with children and families in the community of Lynchburg for several years now. While in high school (over 10 years ago now), I had the opportunity to be a Big Sister myself in the site-based program and enjoyed visiting my little after school. Since graduating college in 2015, I was an Instructional Assistant in Lynchburg City schools and a Therapeutic Day Treatment Professional based in Lynchburg City Schools. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé (soon to be husband ), my bonus daughter (8), and my son (1). Our favorite thing to do together is travel to Tennessee and Myrtle Beach!
