Internship Program

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Virginia offers a vast number of area college students the opportunity to participate in our Internship program.  Each semester our agency receives calls from students who are interested in going into the field of Psychology and Social Services. As a non-profit agency who specifically serves area children, we are the perfect fit for many of these students.

We offer our interns the opportunity to work directly with our professional staff, many of whom have worked in the Social Services field for over 25 years.  Our interns are afforded the opportunity to gain first hand knowledge regarding the inner workings of our agency and receive valuable experience while working “one-on-one” with seasoned professionals. They also work closely with our Special Events & Marketing Coordinator, helping to plan and implement many of our special event fundraisers which help support the programs that our agency offers.

Overall we feel that we provide an excellent opportunity for our interns who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of Psychology, Social Services, Marketing or Development an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience.
